Jenny O'Hara

Co-Star opposite Larry Hagman in The Return of the World's Greatest Detective

With an acting career that dates back to a role on As the World Turns in 1956, Jenny O'Hara is one of the most familiar faces on television. Her biggest stage credit of the 1960s was in the dramatic play Dylan opposite Alec Guinness as Annabelle Graham-Pike, but it is on television that Ms. O'Hara has her most enduring legacy.

Viewers may have recently seen her in episodes of House, Cold Case, Boston Legal, Grey's Anatomy, Ghost Whisperer, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Six Feet Under, Nip/Tuck, Judging Amy, The Practice, ER, The Drew Cary Show, Law & Order, and in a recurring role in The King of Queens. For Sherlockians, however, it is her turn in the mid-1970's gem The Return of the World's Greatest Detective that is a favorite! This made-for-television film is beginning to regain a much-deserved appreciation. It's merits are many, including, a puzzling mystery, a palpable affection for Sherlock Holmes, laugh-out-loud comedy, and the endearing chemistry between its stars, Larry Hagman and Jenny O'Hara.

Both Jenny O'Hara and The Return of the World's Greatest Detective will be with us! We will meet Ms. O'Hara and screen a super-rare print of The Return of the World's Greatest Detective. The film is not available on video or DVD...it hasn't aired since the late 1980s (when it was briefly in syndication), and odds are many of you haven't seen it. But we have a 16mm print, and you will see it and meet its star at From Gillette to Brett II!
